Where, after a few quiet days, John Smith enquires as to whether the deal is still on.
My Dear Sir,
You have been ominously quiet.
I hope my brusque manner has not upset you. I believe if you have something that you want to say then you might as well say it.
There is no point beating around the bush and leaving people guessing about what you mean, is there?
Sometimes my forthrightness startles people but once you know me I am really quite repugnant.
About the financial transaction, is it still on?
Alas my 'window of opportunity' may be closing. I must go away on another business deal next week and I shall be away all week, and possibly the next.
This may be too long for your project.
Please let me know.
Yours sincerely, John Smith, RAN (ret).
