A newspaper article is sent:

Dear Madam,

I have attached a newspaper article that may assist you in coming to terms with the General's sad demise.

I must confess that, while I did have cause to meet with Sir Wilberforce just prior to his death, he did not mention any business transaction.

He was, in fact, wearing a bright red wig and was dressed as an exceedingly ugly old woman. His chief interest seemed to be to hide from a group of Nigerians who apparently upset that he had known their sister. In the Biblical sense, if you get my drift.

I recommended that he go to the police but I understand he never did so, although bits of him were posted there at a later date.

I am afraid I cannot throw any light on the business transaction that you mention. Did he owe you money?

Yours sincerely,

J. Cosmo Newbery,
