Bishop Taekes Pawnchek put the papers down and scratched his head. He had spent some time trying to sort out the affairs of St. Rumpet's but was feeling that the task was beyond him. I was obvious that the Abbot had been intending to travel to London. But why? Who was Mr Blessing Justice? Who was Mrs.Mobutu Sese Seko? What was the money tha the correspondence refered to? Too many questions.

He decided to at least to cross Mr Blessing Justice off the list:

Sir,

I must convey to you some most sad news.

From my reading of the monastery correspondence it is obvious that you are expecting a visit from Andrew Costello, the Abbot of St. Rumpets Monastery.

Abbot Costello will not be able to fulfil his side of this meeting.

He was found dead in his bed yesterday morning.

I have attached a newspaper article that will give you as much information as I have at present.

Obviously, as police investigations progress, I will have more information to pass on to you at a later.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can assist you in any way.

Yours ecclesiastically,

Taekes Pawnchek,
Bishop of Chesbord.

“The rest can wait” he said, closing the folder.
