For the first time in ages the Bishop felt he was in control. Well, semi control. He had dispatched the Mother Superior without falling for her obviouos charms and he more or less understood what the Nigerian was on about.

Thus buoyed, he responded to the Nigerian:

Sir,

Now I understand about the London connection.

I will deal with it as soon as you forward me the account details.

I certainly look forward to meeting Mrs Mobutu and yourself. Actually I would love Mrs Mobutu and yourself to be present at the opening of the Abbot's memorial. Obviously it is still some time off but I shall notify you of the date once I know it.

With regard to the address there are a few minor changes, my name for example is 'Taekes Pawnchek', not 'Yaekes Pawncheke', but in essence it is correct. The '9' in 964 signifies the ninth floor so there is no need to repeat it. I would present the address as follows:

ATTENTION:BISHOP.TAEKES PAWNCHEK
BISHOP OF CHESBORD,
APARTMENT 964,502 VICTORIA STREET,
NORTH MELBOURNE,3051,
VICTORIA
AUSTRALIA.

But it is just cosmetic changes.

I await your advice on the account details,

Yours ecclesiastically,

Taekes Pawnchek,
Bishop of Chesbord.

He heard footsteps outside. They stopped at his door. “Well, what if I took my teeth out?”

The Bishop looked down at his lap for a few moments.

“Come in!” he said and then turned his computer back on and wrote:

Sir,

Something quite alarming has arisen.

As a result of this I have passed immediate contol of the monastery over to the Mother Superior from the nearby convent.

She will contact you directly.

Yours ecclesiastically,

Taekes Pawnchek,
Bishop of Chesbord.
